Error When in DOS
I have seen Cofree's video about how to flash the BenQ dvd drive and i am still having problems. I'm using iPrep v8.8,i have no idea what CK3 is though. When in dos mode i boot to the usb and the program starts up how it's supposed to. Now here is the problem, when i type "dBen (my serial code)" i get the screen saying what to do and it says press any key to continue. When i press a key it says (my 7digit serial code)\(my 5digit serial code)\benofw.bin does not exist ,and then says no ATAPI devices found. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, i'm using the Xbox 360 as power for the drive, with the SATA Cable connected to the computer's SATA ports.

Re: Error When in DOS
The ck3 is a connectivity kit is an r232 adaptor which also powers your drive through a molex connector and has the option of turning the drive on and off and putting hitachi's into mode B and ejecting the drive.. The Sata ports on you pc mightn't be compatiable so you may have to invest in a Via card. You could also try it in another one of your sata ports but i'd definitely invest in the card as it can take all the stress out of the flashing process.
Edit: beat me again cofree i really need to learn how to type faster

Re: Error When in DOS
I would say make sure you are using the primary port on the chipset. It can't hurt to try a dump, but don't ever flash until you know you have a good key...
If you can't get anything at all from motherboard sata then you'll have to go for the card

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card!

Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!

Re: Error When in DOS
I'll try to get a picture of my SATA Ports because they are on the motherboard. I wonder why it doesnt recognize the drive when i plug it in. I detached all the other SATA cables then put the drive in SATA 0, booted on usb stil didn't recognize.
Edit:How to i get my key?

Re: Error When in DOS
Man i am soooo confused right now, i think i'm doing pretty welll and i'm only 13.But i don't know if i can buy the right parts to flash. btw is there any softmods for flashing the drive or is that impossible to accomplish?
Re: Error When in DOS
well
if you cant get the pci sata card you need .
then you wont be able to get the sh-d162c dvd drive you need to make your backup games
so
there is not reason to flash your dvd drive.

I'll try my best to get it ordered, btw how long does it take to order the pci for the SATA and the CK3?
Re: Error When in DOS
a few days most of the time.
you do understand you can brick your console
if that happened the only thing it would be good for is a dvd player if that.

Re: Error When in DOS
As cofree said they normally arrive in a few days but if you figure in the outlay of the card plus a ck3 if needed (not technically necessary but recommended), not taking into account any problems with the flashing procedure, you would probably be better off getting one of the guys off here to flash it for you as they have done loads and are used to dealing with any possible problems which may arise.
