0079FL From Hell

Post by cyantific »

So this was the first 79 I've ever had to do but I had studied flashing them religiously (Podger video by Textbook to be more exact lol). Anyways, had it in my VIA port used slax, got it in modeB. Windows wouldn't see it. Since all previous hitachi drives had to be hooked up to my onboard sata to be seen in windows I tried that. Couldn't get it into mode B for the life of me. I tried the slax disc about 7 times (honestly) and could never get it. So, I replugged it in to the VIA card and by the grace of god I got it into mode B.

Windows seemed to take its own sweet ass time booting up too but finally it did (raptor drive 10000rpm...) and Windows detected it. Did the audio cd, 79unlock, and DVD and flashed that bad boy. Felt good after I did it but damn don't ever want to see one again!
