Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
oh yeah, thats what i read before posting. Just wanted to verify that the steps i'm going to take were correct.
So what do u think? By the way, U know if the drive's tray has to be half opened or only on lite-on? And All i need is to boot up the console with the drive connected to my via chipset, then run through JungleFlasher??
Thx

Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
there is a way to get the benq in debug mode with the tray half closed
iprep even does it
iprep even does it
Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
So which u suggest would be the best way to go about this mod. Jungle Flasher, or Iprep. Isn't Iprep more cmd based? I would prefer to go GUI. I seems pretty str8 fwrd, just wanted to know if the benq drive needs to be half closed or completely closed??
Other than that cofree, The steps I listed what do u think??
Thx

Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
personally I go for dosflash32 (it's at 1.7 atm), but yeah your steps for jungle flasher are fine...
If you can't get in the benq (unlock it), I would try Iprep 6.2 just because you don't have to faff around with unlocking, power cycling the drive normally allows you to access it...

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card!

Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!
Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
Thanks guys. Is there a tut on using dosflas? I would prefer to use a program that doesn't require the use of a thumb drive cuz i dnt have one right now.
But my steps listed above are good right? By the way I read the tut on flashing the benq in jungleflasher, the part i didn't quite get was the part for putting the drive in vendor mode 0x73. However, the steps I listed above will that take the drive into vendor mode 0x73? If not, any suggestions are very welcome.
Thx

Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
Its well worth getting hold of a thumb drive, alternatively you could use an sd card in a reader/psp with usb enabled etc.
If you're using iprep 101 V006.2
- boot USB device to dos
- On the dos screen turn on the 360 -
- TYPE: (Dben xxxxxxx xxxxx) with out brackets and hit enter -
- "MTK VENDOR intro failure "turn off the drive then press yes" -
- turn on the drive (it should start to read) -
- when finished you will see " Your iXtreme firmware is now ready to flash" -
If you can not get the drive to read please do not proceed seek help
- Now do the same to flash it just replace (Dben) with (Fben) -
- (xxxxxxx xxxxx) is the serial number on the back of your console -
and if you're using iprep 101 V008
- Type "DosFlash".
- It will show you the port you drive is on
- Press "Y" & press "enter".
- You MAY get status 0X00 turn drive off/on. (ONLY TURN DRIVE OFF/ON HERE)
- Select the number of the drive.
- Press "R" [read] & press "enter".
- Type "BACKUPS\BENQ-OFW.bin"
- Type "FirmTool backups\BENQ-OFW.bin BENQ-CFW.bin".
- you'll get "success" message.
- Type "DosFlash".
- It will show you the port you drive is on.
- Select "Y" & press "enter".
- You MAY get status 0X00 turn drive off/on. (ONLY TURN DRIVE OFF/ON HERE)
- Select the number of the drive.
- Select "W" [write] & press "enter".
- Type "BENQ-CFW.bin".

Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
Fingers crossed Ronaldo. You may find that you might encounter a problem with jungleflasher as you said you have a Via chipset. A workaround is to uninstal the via drivers before installing portio but i tend to use iprep. Good luck whichever method you decide on using mate.

Re: Needing to flash a benq!!
Hello again guys, total success. 1 Hitachi 47 and 1 benq. I'm on a roll.
I used Jungle Flasher. Flawless victory.
Thx
