Rumor: New update giving Xbox 360's the dreaded RRoD?
Many sources....

Image

As following all mandatory updates we report on a small number of folks complaining that their Xbox 360 got the RRoD after the latest update.
As expected more people come forward to say the same happened to them and a number of other internet websites are reporting the same.

Is it all just a coincidence?

Give us your thoughts or has it happened to you???

as far as i know the rrod is a hardware problem.
I just dont know if doing a software update can/could cause it.

That is not say it cant mind you but its hard to understand how it could.

well I know from experience with SKY boxes that they can have general hardware failures after updates....

about 1 in 12,000 I think was the quoted number.

So it could be possible.
or just Chinese whispers...

Well if you turn anything off during an update (or an error occurs) you can be pretty sure it won't work the way it's supposed to when you power back on...

TBH, I think this is just rumour, I remember hearing the same thing about nxe...

hey i got error code :1022 There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)

i already tried the x-clamp replacement and that didnt work, well it came on for like 2-3 hours then we turned it off to go get something to eat. when we came back i turned it back on then that one light came on again

If that's the case, sounds like it needs a reflow...

You can try Heatgunning it (make sure you do lots of reading on this before you go at it).

Is it an old console?? Might be time for a new one
