So i boot into dos and type in ben and my serial number so the next screen pops up and gives me the directions i hit any key and then i hit y for yes. After it starts going to the flash letters/numbers so i turn of my xbox turn it back on but it never gets past that

Make sure that your waiting long enough when you power your 360 off and then back on. It takes a couple extra seconds when you use the 360 as the power supply. I would actually recommend investing in a connectivity kit and do it with jungleflasher. You could even use the cheaper xecuter connectivity kit v2 with the benq and it would literally would only take <1 minute to dump and flash the drive.

With jungleflasher you would have to have a connectivity kit. No way around it because you have to put the benq in a half closed state. You can't do that using the 360 as the power supply.

With jungleflasher, once you put the drive in half closed state, you open jungleflasher, click the MTK Flash32 tab, click BENQ unlock, then once it send the unlock commands, click the Intro/Device ID button. Once the flash chip properties fills in, click the read button. It will then read out the firmware and ask you to save it. Once you save it, click the Firm Tool 32 tab. Check your DVD key and make sure it's valid. Then click the open target firmware button and choose the ixtreme 1.5 firmware for the Benq. Click the Spoof source to target button. Then click the Save to file button and save the custom firmware. Then click the MTK Flash 32 tab and click the write button. It will then write the custom firmware to your benq.

Your options are limited without a ck3. You could use an older version of iprep with an updated ixdef file as they didn't require you to leave the drawer open. Done a few benq's this way before i bought a ck3 and it was easy enough.

The new version of iprep requires you to eject the drive, turn it off, push it half way in etc. Without doing this it wont continue the flash. You could try using iprep 101 V008 and update the ixdef file to accept the 1.5 ixtreme as it uses a different procedure which doesn't require the above.

If you don't have a ck3 and fancy using iprep 101 V008, format the usb drive and make bootable etc. then:

- Type "DosFlash".

- It will show you the port you drive is on

- Press "Y" & press "enter".

- You MAY get status 0X00 turn drive off/on. (ONLY TURN DRIVE OFF/ON HERE)

- Select the number of the drive.

- Press "R" [read] & press "enter".

- Type "BACKUPS\BENQ-OFW.bin"

- Type "FirmTool backups\BENQ-OFW.bin BENQ-CFW.bin".

- you'll get "success" message.

- Type "DosFlash".

- It will show you the port you drive is on.

- Select "Y" & press "enter".

- You MAY get status 0X00 turn drive off/on. (ONLY TURN DRIVE OFF/ON HERE)

- Select the number of the drive.

- Select "W" [write] & press "enter".

- Type "BENQ-CFW.bin".

well there are some that say they got this to work.
I have not done this but bigd says it will work with jungl flasher.
so there is a chance it will work with iprep.
If using a 360 to power the drive this method can be tricky to accomplish.
You need to power on the drive with Eject status closed but Tray Half Open –To do this using
an Xbox 360 as Power source, eject the DVD drive, then, press eject to ‘close’ the tray. Now this
is the important part –you MUST remove the DVD power plug from the DVD Drive BEFORE it
closes fully.
Wait for a few seconds and replace the power plug into the DVD drive taking extreme caution
to plug the plug the right way around –once done, the drive is now powered, console thinks its
closed but it is in fact half open.
that is from this guide

I believe i got my Benq into a half closed state without using a CK3. What i did is after i turned of my system i closed the tray halfway and held it with my hand to stop it from closing when it was turned back on. Initially it will try to close but after maybe 10-20 seconds it will stop and stay halfway closed until you power it off again not sure if thats right but its how i flashed my drive using 8.8.

well if it worked. :?

I would not recommend anyone doing this.
Its a real good way to break the open/close gear.
