Okay I have a question. I watched the youtube video about burning with dvd decryptor and it says change you settings to dvd-rom. When i try to do that it says failed but the settings are already dvd-rom type. Does this matter or do I need to purchase another dvd burner. I am running Vista new pc with a pre-installed dl dvd burner. I am wanting to play my back-up on live without getting banned. thanks this site is awesome.
Thanks again

Re: backup w/dvd decryptor
well first
i would bet that is a old video.
here is a guide on burning a game.
you dont have to worry about the rom thing as long as you have the lastest firmware in your dvd drive.

if you have any more questions just post up.

Re: backup w/dvd decryptor
hmmm, actually I can confirm dvd decrypter works wonders for burning backups...however you are right, your burner does have to be set to DVD-Rom.
I have 3 burners in my computer, and I cannot set the bittype on 2 of them. Well, one i flashed with a hacked firmware so now I can on 2 of my 3.
DVD Decryptor cannot set the booktype for certain drives, so yours may not be able to do it.
Do you have details on your drive you can post for us?
My friends had to go out and pickup a drive. Pioneer makes some great drives and they support bitsetting changes natively, without you having to flash them with hacked firmwares. I picked up my Pioneer burner for about $30 bucks retail.
Either way, let us know what drive you are using and take it from there
Oh, and if yours doesnt support bitsetting grab one of these for 25 bucks and never worry about it again. In fact I think I heard the pioneer ones automatically set the bitsettings to DVD-Rom by default.

Today Money, Tomorrow the WORLD!!
Re: backup w/dvd decryptor
as long as you are running ixtreme v1.4 or v1.5
