Re: blank DL
hi mate...its really down to personal choice..verbatim are the best for xbox games but they are a little expensive, i also use AONES dl dvds, they are very cheap and manufactured by ricod (i think)....i get these for about £4-50 for a pack of 10, wheras as Verbs probably cost around £9-£10 mark. Moast dl dvd burners will write to verbs, however quite a few of them hate AONES...i had a HP dl burner which hated aones, had to buy a pioneers dl writer...so far not a single coaster using the aones..also burn at low speed for good results..xexclusivex wrote:Do you have to use verbatim? or if not what other disc can i use?
good luck

Re: blank DL
yes mate aone's are good iv used them 4 about 2 years burn at 2.4x speed i only had trubble with gears 2 so used a verb for that 1

Re: blank DL
Nearly always used verbatim MiS ones as i've read bad reviews on the made in india batches but i got given a pack of Arita's with the Ritek dye and so far they've been great.Think they're about half the price of verbs. Not so much of an issue for me as i tend to copy the games onto the hard drive through the nxe dashboard so as long as they copy over ok i'm happy.

Re: blank DL
well
from the site stand point
verbatim is the disc to use
They give the best results for backups
there are other disc that will work but verbatim do the best

Re: blank DL
Verbatim all the way.
38 burns, 0 coasters.
1st spindle was MIS (Made in Singapore)
2nd spindle was MII (Made in Indonesia)
MIS is supposed to be of higher quality, but as I said, 38 - 0. (Undefeated woot)
Speaking of undefeated, how 'bout the fights Saturday. Lyoto and GSP kicked ass. I lost a lot of respect for BJ.

Re: blank DL
This is something that i have just came to a conclusion on. For the longest time i have been using Sony to make backups of my games with no problems.... Until now. i recently purchased a new stack and low and behold first one doesnt work. I thought maybe it was a bad backup so redumped the game reburned and still nada. I though maybe it was because i recently went to iXtreme 1.5 but thought i should do some more searching. I had a friend of mine give me one of his Verbatims and viola good burn also it loads faster then my old Sonys. So its Verbatim all the way from now on.xexclusivex wrote:Do you have to use verbatim? or if not what other disc can i use?
Also if anyone has any problems with reading their backups after flashing to 1.5 send me a pm im still in debug mode in my head as to why they dont work for me anymore.
To clarify my problem reading the sony's i can get into start menu but when i start actual game play i get Unreadable disk errors

Sorry if i hijacked the post.

Re: blank DL
I use some TDK ones with GREAT success, just as good as my verbatims.
I also have a very picky gps unit in my car that loves the TDK along with the verbs.
A little cheaper at around a buck each, still not cheap but not bad for decent media.

I`ve had alot of problems with memorex.
Glad memorex works for you.
How long have you been useing memorex ?
They just dont last long for me,
lest then a year and reading problems.
I just hate letting the kids play the org,
until I can back it up again.
Verbatims is what works best for me.

Re: blank DL
they're all i use, been using em since '05 or '06, my friend uses both verbatim and memorex, so verbatim definitely works, i just like memorex more for whatever reason. . . i only had one error with burning em once and that was because i hit the drive by mistake while it was writing.

Re: blank DL
I have had awful results with those you mentioned!peacock wrote:what about these..Ridisc DVD+R DL 8.5Gb Silver Printable ?...are they any good...?..made by ritek i presume..
I used to use them back in the day with the orig xbox and gamecube, but in the last couple years nothing but problems in both my car (gps) and my 360.
Stay clear. You can get much better media for the same price range.
