Sata cards

Does the sata card have to be VIA VT6421A Serial ATA RAID PCI Controller Card or do i just have to look for a certin chip set?...thanks

the thing is i live in canada and its almost$30 for shipping.so if i know what im asking for i can check tiger direct.ca or local comp shop

ive never seen a via6421 sata card in a super store.

just check at tiger and see if they have the same card.ive got things from tiger myself.
i would tell you get that card it dont matter where it comes from.

This is the one I have if you can find it anywhere its awesome

Rosewill RC-215 VIA PCI SATA 1.5G x2

I havent had any problems with it at all.

I dunno what shipping's like for you Canadiens, but if you can order this card

I can vouche that it works. Microcenter is a big computer retailer and one of the finest around. Also, 6421L did not work for me. I had to use the above card with 6421A....
