Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has appointed a new general manager to its Seattle studios.
Laura Fryer – who up until recently was an executive producer at Microsoft Game Studios – will lead two key development studios in Seattle; FEAR 2’s Monolith Productions, as well as Snowblind Studios. Warner Bros state that the most recent title under Fryer’s supervision was Gears of War 2.
“Laura’s extensive career demonstrates her great understanding of the process and her ability to innovatively grow our development studios,” says Samantha Ryan, VP of Development at Warner Bros. “Utilizing her expertise to direct our Seattle studios in several key areas, we are looking forward to developing quality games under her leadership in the most efficient ways.”
Fryer is described as “an industry veteran”. She was one of the first members of Microsoft Game Studios before moving on to become director of the Xbox Advanced Technology Group, and a founding member of the Xbox project. She returned to Microsoft Game Studios in 2004. Her reasons for departing Microsoft have yet to be revealed.
