Memorex DVD+R 8x Double Layer (Any Good for Backups)
Just want to get some feedback from everyone who has been successful in backing up XBXO360 games with memorex. I've only used Verbatim but currently Memorex is on sale at amazon. 50 pack for $43.25.

So you're recommending to stick to Verbatim only. Are there any deals on Verbatim lately?

Cofree, found Verbatim disc at Microcenter for $27.99 for a pack of 20. So for 100 it's only $150. Not sure if this is their sale price or regular price. Anyway, it is still a sweet deal.

actually just went to MicroCenter today, cause there's one local to me in NJ, and picked up the last 3 packs of these Verbatim dl dvd's for $28 each package. Only problem is they are MII (Made In India) not Singapore. I haven't burned any games yet, i'm still waiting on my kreon drive. Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with the Indian made disks? I hear alot of bad reviews on the other forums.

I'm not sure about Verbatim made in India although I never did check mine as to where they were made and never had a coaster yet. Anyway, I just order some Memorex and will give it a shot.

The disks that I use are either verbatim data life plus or Sony when I run out of verbs.

I get the verbatims from microcenter too, that's a sweet deal. I have used memorex too tho. They had a 50 pack for $60 which is crazy cheap for dl, and this was awhile back. I've never had any problems with disc recognition...
If it works, why abandon it right? Is there any advantage to using verbatim? I say use the cheapest...saving money...isn't that why we got into this in the first place (that and its fun)

Depends on how long you want them to last. Cheaper media usually means a cheaper disk dye that wears out quicker than other media. When I used memorex dvd's with my xbox1, they lasted around 1 year. Where as all the games that I burned using verbatims, still alive and kicking, so my others that quit working, got reburned to verbs.

Re: Memorex DVD+R 8x Double Layer (Any Good for Backups)
I use the memorex 8x but I burn at 2.4x. I havent had a single problem with them. I usually go to K-mart and buy 3 for $10.00. Not a great deal on the price but I only get games I really want also. So I would say that the Memorex discs are good to use. I have 20 or so games so I dont know if thats enough to go by or not.
But I also have done a few games for friends (same discs I use) and no problems there either.
I think it depends on how you take care of your copies aswell. All mine are still in mint condition, no scratches and stay in plastic cases so hopefully they will not get any. All the discs I have ever used were Memorex brand not one single problem from XBOX1 to XBOX360. But I have heard Verbatims are the best to get though. I just cant afford them.
But if you prefer and can offord top to of the disc chain that would be the Verbs.
Thats just my two cents

Im using a pack of memorex 8x and im having no luck with them, even burning at 1x. The games work, but i sometimes have to turn off my xbox, wait about 1min and turn it back on and then the game usually work. I hope that its the disk and not something else lol. I have a bundle of verbs on the way, we will see.
