swaping lieton drive key to another lieton

Post by vibrant »

how i have a xbox 360 that was flashed after being repaired 2 months ago, and once again locking up , so instead of flashing the drive of my new xbox is it possibly to read the 3 files from my new 360 and putting them unto the xbox/ lieton drive that is freezing, or would you take a chance and put the security seals back on send it back for repair or would i be better shorting / breaking the lieton on the freezing xbox so the cant read the drive to see if it has been flashed and sending it back
the reason i dont want to flash my new drive is to keep the warranty so that if that breakes i can put the original drive back many thanks

Well, if I understand you correctly, your wanting to take a drive from a 360 thats giving you trouble and then dump a drive from a new console. Take that dump and get the key from it and put it into the drive from the old console and spoof it and put that old drive into the new console so you can keep the new drive stock?

If that's the case, yeah that will work, but you'd need to be careful with the warranty sticker on the lite-on drive. Some people say not to worry about that sticker. I tend to believe that if it says, warranty void if broken on it, I try not to break it :D

You would need to use jungleflasher to, at the very least, to get the dummy.bin for the first drive. Once you have the dummy.bin, you can get the key from it. Then use jungleflasher with the second drive, after getting the 4 files, put the key from the first drive in the key at the top, then click spoof to target and it should put the first drive's key in. Then just save it and then you could try and use jungleflasher and finish flashing or you can rename the hacked firmware file that jungleflasher created to use iprep or dosflash to flash it in.

am i right in saying, 1 read the dummy.bin from my new xbox lieton drive
2 read the 4 files on my broken xbox drive but
and use jungle flasher to insert the key manualy and spoof it,
would i not need to use the 4files from my new drive
as that would have the information of my motherboard
or does the spoof take care of that.
and i already have the four files from the broken xboxs
lieton from when i flashed it if what you are saying is right
could i use these or take a new read of the old one sorry for being stupid
but alot for me to take in

Acutally, it would be easier to do this.

1. Start with the broken drive first and get the 4 files.
2. Move to the new drive and dump the 4 files.
3. Load the dummy.bin from the broken drive as the source.
4. load the ixtreme 1.5 for lite-on as the target and click spoof to source and then save it.
5. Finish flashing with jungleflasher, iprep or dosflash.

would putting the dummy bin from my broken xbox not be the same as putting
my old key into my new drive i want to put my old drive which is still working
in to my new xbox, what if i just read my new drive and flash the old one with the files

you need to do it like sadalius said.

when you get a dump of all the files from your old drive.
it will make a dummy.bin
the dummy file has more info than just your key.
you need all that info to put in the new dvd drive.

yes but the new drive is not going into the old xbox
its the old drive that is going into a new xbox from the broken xbox

so thats were im confused if i read the dummy.bin
of the drive i will be using would i not be putting a false key from my old xbox into my new
and if not how do i get the key that i will be using into the drive

should i not get the dummy from the drive that i will "not" be using and spoof that to the one that came out of the broken xbox as its the broken xbox one that i will be using .as the drive is ok, this is all i need cleared up before i go ahead many thanks

me to :D

ok man let me try this again

if you are wanting to take the dvd drive from the working console and put the dvd drive from the broke console.
I dont know why you would do this as you are going to break the warranty seal to get the information from it,but
yes you would need the files from the the working console dvd drive to put in the broke console dvd drive.
then the dvd drive from the broken console should work in the working console.
so that would mean you would have 2 dvd drives that would play in the working console.

I need a aspirin i have a head ace :D
no make that a beer. :D

if you are not going to fix the broke console
i would just junk it out for all the parts and keep the dvd drive for a spare and flash the dvd drive that is in the working console.

Simply put, you need to take the info from your old drive an put it into your new drive that way your console thinks it's still the old drive. If the console doesn't think the old drive is there, it won't run anything. Thats why you need to build your firmware from the dummy.bin file of your old drive.

Of course all this depends on what drive is going in what console. I think a better explanation of which drive was going in what console was in order to properly explain.
