if you use a molex cable to power up the xbox do you still need to use a serial cable or... do they do the same thing? also whats better to use the molex or the serial cable? i have my via drivers installed and portio drivers installed

the molex and the serial cable are for 2 different things. The molex just supplies power to the connectivity kit. The serial cable connects the PC to the dvd drive through the connecivity kit which's objective is to transfer the information (the dvd key) from the DVD drive to the PC.
