Hey everyone,
My buddy flashed his BenQ with iPrep 8.8. After the flashing the console won't read anything. I used my CK3 to dump the key again and now it shows fffffffff, so obviously that's a bad key ( I can't believe the tray is still ejecting). Miraculously, before he flashed the drive he managed to get a good dump. I already checked the key with toolbox and it looks good. So yeah, we have a good backup of the original key. What exactly do i need to do to put the original key back with iPrep 8.8?
Please, use step by step if possible.
Thanx in advance
Restoring key w Iprep 8.8
Re: Restoring key w Iprep 8.8
do you have just the key or the whole firmware.
if you have the whole firmware ,if its just the key look at bottom of post.
open jungle flasher
load that orig firmware as source.
no open target firmware will be the ixtreme benq 1.51 firmware.
then click spoof to target
you should see that the key is now in that hacked firmware.
now click save to file.
when you save it name it bencfw, bin this would be for iprep 8.8
now make a iprep boot flash.
after that is done go in the backup folder and make a folder named 1234567.
then go in that folder and make a folder named 12345.
in that folder put a copy of the bencfw.bin
ok
now boot on the flash
once its there
fben 1234567 12345
and flash it in like normal.
what that will be doing is flashing in the ixtreme v1.51 with the key you put in it.
as long as you are using the right key it will play games after that.
=============================
if you have just the key
you will need to input the key in the ixtreme firmware with jungle or firmware tool box.
and
do the iprep and renaming starting up top.
do not lose that key or firmware no matter what.

He used iPrep 8.8 to read and flash. We have the benofw.bin from the backups folder of iPrep. the bin file shows a combination of random numbers and letters when loaded up in toolbox.....so is this the whole fw?

Yes if you have the BenOFW.bin file, then you have the complete FW. Well usually if nothing went wrong. Now that you have that I suggest you save it in like 100 different places. The key on that file is precious if you ever need to replace the DVD drive that's in your xbox now.

now make a iprep boot flash.
So, when making the iprep boot do I need to select/load up the benq ixtreme fw 1.51 ?

Yes if you want to flash a hacked fw. If you're planning on restoring the original fw you need to rename it to benCFW.bin a place and load it with iPrep. I would make a copy of it first. Just for safe keeping.
