Charges For Resident Evil 5 Mode

Capcom said Thursday that it will be charging a fee for a downloadable "Verus" mode for Resident Evil 5, which is due this week on Xbox 360 and PS3.

The post-launch content will cost gamers an additional $5 on Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Network.

The new mode accommodates up to four players online across two game types:

* Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis.
* In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other.

Both game types will allow one-on-one or two-on-two matches.

The core Resident Evil 5 game revolves around co-op components as opposed to versus gameplay.

Charging for an extra game mode may elicit some negativity from gamers, but with the anticipation surrounding Resident Evil 5, it's possible that many will look past having to pay to play, particularly if the mode turns out to be worthwhile.

Why not just be up front and and the extra cost at purchase and put everything in together? I wouldn't mind paying more over the counter but this makes me feel robbed
