It means that the serial data is missing from the dump of the key.bin, inquiry.bin and identify.bin. You can repair that with jungleflasher, but you'll need to take the drive apart to get some serial numbers off the laser and a couple other places.

You shouldn't need to use the probe if the pads are already bridged.

Have a look at this thread, this guy had to rebuild his serial info as well.

Follow what ghost did in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=61&t=4476" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's not a tutorial per say, but you can use it as a guide to rebuilding your serial data. It's pretty easy to follow in my opinion.

If you are using jungleflasher 1.5.1 and are getting badd serial data when trying to extract the key its something to do with your serial or usb drivers whichever you are using. Try reinstalling drivers or working on a fresh install of windows xp.

no man
the bad ser data you are missing is in your dummy firmware or the firmware that has been flash in your dvd drive.
That was a BIG bug in jungle flasher
That let firmware be built with out all the ser data.

there is a way to rebuild you ser data.
read over this.

In 1.5.1 it tells you that error when something is wrong when trying to extract the fw and it wont let you even save the fw. How do you suppose you edit the dummy file when you dont have one yet? That guy that you posted had this problem because he used an earlier version of jungleflasher the first time and never had the serial info at all. anyways I just posted in that thread how to do the dummy fix since some people are confused and used the old jungle flasher. Hope that helps.

Hi

Just to clear things up. The only Liteon that I have had this problem with seems to be the one that I did with the first version of JungleFlasher. So for some reason, the drive was flashed with the iXtreme firmware but the firmware did not have all of that serial information intact.

I had no way of knowing this until I went to update the firmware on that drive. When I clicked the "dummy from iXtreme" button in JungleFlasher 1.51. The program tried to re-create a dummy file from the already flashed firmware and noticed that the serial information was not present to include in the new dummy file that it was trying to create. That is why it flagged up an error message and told me to manually enter the missing information.

Any liteons that I flashed using later versions of Jungle flasher never had this problem and they all have the serial information intact. So I guess it had something to do with the first JungleFlasher.

you are right
as long as this is the first time he has tried to dump his info.
if this is a reflash then there is bad ser info on that drive.

Your ck3 has both lights on on the probe like this picture yes?
Image

If Yes the ck3 is broken if both lights are on send it back to company you bought from. (its not just the probe its the ck3)

If you bought from reseller and they give you guff about returning (like did you plug the wire in upside which is damn near impossible) tell them to check here. http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthre ... 534&page=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is the executer admiting the fault. Also other people in that thread have the SAME EXACT problem as you.. check page 5.

You get the serial is bad error and it wont let you save any files just doesn't read right?

That is the reason your getting the serial data is bad. I know from experience as I had to send 3 ck3s back for this exact reason. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SERIAL OR DUMMY FILE!. Its saying that the serial or usb is messed up which is being caused by the ck3 being faulty and broken. I think the ck3s like freeze or something because after that happens you wont be able to use usb or serial any more.

Solution get a maximus extractor which is the same thing just better build quality.. as you can see in the picture I took.. just looks better quality.. or get another ck3 and chance having it happen to you again like my other 2 did.. because most people dont seem to have this problem and its only some that are faulty. I am assuming I just got very unlucky. If you get another ck3 I suggest not to get from mrmodchips as that seems to be the place where they have bad batches of them.

Hope this helps you.. wish someone had told me about this instead of me researching it for days cause nobody had the same problem.
