Would like to flash HIT and Samsung today
I just got my controller card from hong kong took 2 weeks...
So anyways, it came with a mini disk, and a sata. I dont have a mini disk so I dont know how to install the drivers. I dont really know if I should, since you have to disable them anyways to use JF.
For the HIT, I would like to use JF its a 78 drive, and it seems very easy with JF.
The Sammy MS28 I dont know, I want to flash it with 0800 FW so I can use it to dump games until 1.6 comes out.
Any tips? What should I use for my sammy? would JF be just as easy?
Do I need drivers for my card or can I just plug and play? If I need the drivers can I get them online somewhere?

that disk will work fine, just put it in your cd-rom tray and it will read the drivers off of it. some trays actually have a small indentation were the smaller disk go, look and see. . .

If you end up not being able to detect over Port I/O and want to try with the via drivers do not use the drivers on the disk.
Get 5.30c from VIA Arena or somewhere else.
Later drivers will cause a 6421 to show up as a 3429.

Ok, I flashed my hitachi 78. The mode B was pretty weird...
I noticed in the log it said my key, then it opened ix showed the hash, then it showed the key as 000000000000000000
Does that mean the fw has no key in it so JF spoofed my key to it? or do I not have a key in my drive? I assume I do since I can play originals (havent tested burned games yet)

This means that you have an invalid key. Try to open the key up with Firmware toolbox and see if it tells you the same thing. If it does then I would try to dump it again.

Re: Would like to flash HIT and Samsung today
I know I have a good key, I dumped it got the key, then I did the flashing step and it dumped it and gave me the same good key again. I had two 0's in total in the key.
What I am wondering is why in the log it showed:
Dumped The FW!
Key @ Port: My Key (Good)
Open ixtreme <location>
MD5: <hash>
Key & Port: 00000000000000000
Flashing...
It said successful, stability test worked etc. I can play originals so that means I must have a key in the drive... So that 00000 has to be because the ixtreme had no key in it so I assume JF spoofed it automatically?

if it will play any game orig or backup
then your flash and key is good.
the hack firmware does not come with a key.
then your flash and key is good.
i think you are right there man.HaGGardSmurf wrote:So that 00000 has to be because the ixtreme had no key in it

Re: Would like to flash HIT and Samsung today
I know that Jungle flasher is very easy to use, but the the HIT 78 I would try to flash it in firmware toolbox and if you follow text book's guide you cannot go wrong. This will be a good test. I havent played that much with Jungle flasher and I am still a bit unconfortable using the program and the only drive I use it for is the Lite-On. For the Sammy I would use Iprep 8 and load your iXtreme 1.51 and then proceed to flash it with your USB drive in DOS again if you follow Text Books guide you should be fine.
Like you and Cofree said if the drive plays originals it has to have some kind of firmware, but I think somehow it may have told you it was flashed and then it didnt flash it or you flashed a drive on your computer other than the HIT or Sam.
Hope this helps and good luck.
