e65 on samsung after flashing 0800 Can I recover?

Post by HaGGardSmurf »

I flashed 0800 FW into my samsung with JF. I used JF the previous day and flashed my hit 78 perfectly.

I just flashed my ms28 with 0800 it only played dvd's so I wasnt sure if that was part of the 0800 it doesnt play games, only reads them... So anyways I wanted to flash to 1.51 and I got into jf couldnt do a dump or anything so I tried resending the command and the 1 second trick, didnt work, and the plug was like half way in and I smelt kind of a melting plastic smell, I plugged it in all the way and turned it off fast.

Now I get e65 when I try to turn on the xbox. I thought e65 was bad FW or drive not closed or something... Didnt think it had anything to do with roasting your drive... If you want to see the log, here it is:

(This was from flashing 0800, the only thing I did after was try to get the drive into vendor mode...)

I dont know what you burned man
but
the 0800 firmware will not play a game it will only dump a game
and
that is only after it is hooked up to your pc.

at this point
i would build a iprep boot flash and try to restore it to the orig or your cfw as long as it has your key.

o8oo firmware does not have or need a key to mount and run on your pc.

How do I restore it? I have to do it through iPrep, because when I connect the drive to my computer and power it on it locks my computer.

My original FW looks like it has a good key... I really know though. No 0's is all I know...

build a ipre flash
in the backup folder make 2 folders the 1st name 1234567 then in that folader put the 2nd folder name it 12345
then in the 2nd folder put a copy of your orig firmware or a copy of a cfw(hacked firmware)
this firmware must have a goog key from your console.

rename the file "samcfw.bin"

then boot on the flash and run the fsam 1234567 12345 command
it will flash in that firmware.

make sure you have the right firmware
the if you put a orig firmware in its back to stock.
if you put a good hack firmware in the it is flash and should play both orig games and backup.

Tried that, once in iPrep my computer locked up. I have no idea what to do with this god damn drive... I think its got 0800 but its kinda messed so my comp recognizes it, but locks up because the FW is partially corrupt

I dunno what to do... My comp tries to recognize it but fails, so it locks I dont think there is any way around this...

Should I buy a new drive? (Are 046, 047 and 059 hitachi's easy?)

imo
the older hit dvd drive suck ;)

man
when is your computer locking up
i dont get it
what are you trying to do when it locks up.

if it has a 0800 firmware in it dont have the sata pluged (but have the power on) in till you see the windows loading bar start across the screen
then hook up the sata.

i dont see why iprep would lock up your computer trying to make a boot flash. :?

Any time I plug it in my comp will lock. I usually have the sata connected, then I just power the drive on. Would that be any different than if I were to keep the drive powered and then plug in the sata?

I tried when windows was loading, and the bar stopped moving. I tried right when windows finished loading, and it locked... I have no idea why it would lock in iPrep, windows shouldnt recognize it..

I tried with and without my drivers installed...

It locked iPrep, locked jungle flasher. I can have 0 processes running, I will plug the sata into the back of the drive, then 1 second later comp is frozen.

yea
there is a big difference
try it the way i said. ;)

HaGGardSmurf wrote:It locked iPrep
there is no reason to have the drive hook to the computer when iprep is running.

Alright, just got home, so I will try keeping the drives power on, and ready to plug the sata in... See if that works

I mean it locks iPrep when I boot from my USB. BTW my drive wont eject, so I can be pretty sure its a bad FW right?

Man I thought samsungs were supposed ti be easy :(

I'll post my results in a little while.

Ok, so my comp doesnt freeze if the drive is powered on before hand.

JF will not see the drive with and without my drivers installed, but now I can eject my drive, and the power button has stopped flashing, its just solid green now. (When its connected to my computer. If I connect the drive back to the xbox I still get e65)

iPrep cannot find it either... In JF the drives status is 0x58. I cannot get it to 0x70 I tried the activate.iso and it didnt work. I used a dual layer Dvd, nothing... The drive loaded the disk for a second and then just stopped loading...
