I tried to flash the 0800 FW into my MS28 so I could dump games and play them on my 1.51 console...
The flash was bad, I would put in the game, and it would read for like 2 mins, then tell me to insert into a console... I was trying to reflash it but ended up plugging the power cable in only partially, smelt a weird smell, now I get E65...
If I power the drive with my xbox, and connect it to my computer, I can eject the tray, but if its not connected to my computer I get e65 and it will not eject.
I know the port my drive is connected on, because I have the log from all the other flashes I have done (I just keep the sata plugged into the card when its not in use). In JF, if I check status, its 0x58, if I unplug the drive and check the status its 0x7F. So there must be some communication there?
Any ideas? Is this drive fried/bricked?
Cant detect MS28 after bad flash Any tips?

"E65: DVD Drive Error.... DVD Timeout, Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot."
This is not my work this is from cofree's thread under Board index< Consoles< Xbox 360< General Information< Error Codes
Im pretty sure if the drive will eject it's not bricked. Not sure on that but, I have heard that.

I would try restoring the original firmware with iPrep. DOS may find it easier to communicate with the drive and hopefully save it.

dont connect sata or play a game with 0800 firmware on your drive, and is it a BAD flash with 0800 or going back to CFW?

Well its weird because I can kind of communicate with it, but it never will show on any of my ports. If I were able to get it to status 0x70 I could probably do a restore.
