disc unreadable sometimes on liteon flash 360

ok so the other day I played with my bro on resident evil 5 and I kinda didn't like the split screen so I decided to flash my other xbox 360 and burnt another copy and we play on two different screens but I played nba live 09 on that xbox 360 and the game loaded up fine but a little into the beginning video it gave me disc unreadable twice, so i just used my other 360 and it didn't give it too me once, so a little eariler I was playing co op on resident evil 5 with my bro and about a hour in the game it gave me another unreadable error. the disc never had any scratches on it before but when it gave me the unreadable error tonight I took it out and seen one so is anything wrong with the drive like a bad flash? also can the laser put scratches on the disc? the xbox is like 4 months old so I don't think the drive is breaking.

I know there was a problem with older Samsung drives scratching disc but I've never heard of a Lite-on doing that. a bad flash may result in alternating speeds which could potentially damage the disc. Also the laser isn't strong enough to damage a disc within a couple of days unless it was on the same track for like a week straight and even then it would be a long shot. You could try flashing the drive again. If you're still having issues I would look at getting it replaced.

Never heard of a liteon scratching a disc. The disc unreadable error might be down to cheap media (unless your using verbs already?) which may work on one drive but fail on another.

yes I always use verbs and the ones made for singapore nothing else. I gonna burn another copy and see how the 360 drive holds up and if it gives me more problems I will flash it again and then if that don't fix I will replace the drive. So what kind of drive should I replace the lite on with?

I actually think that CoFree has had the same problems with some lite-ons not being able to read some games. Not sure if he ever figured out what the issu was though.

I would personally say Samsung ms28. They're the easiest to get hold of, and IMO the most reliable. Benqs are good too, but avoid older hits (32-59) like the plague...
