maximus xtractor with spear.. help needed please

i bought a maximus xtractor with spear and just wondering if the same tutorials apply to the ck3 tutorials.. also if anyone has any good sites with images.. i have no knowledge of what wire goes where and what way round especially as the maximus has different coloured cable that supposed to fit on the board, but what way round, and what way round does it fit the spear..also what way round does the dvd cable fir on the board, ive heard if you put it the wrong way it can blow the board. ive had the kit a few days now.. and i haven't found anything that can help.. if anyone can help i really appreciate it..

hey thanx for your reply.. i noticed on that cable that it has notches on the side and it can only fit the board one way so i assume that it will fit the drive only one way too... its the cable that goes from the board to the pc.. the molex female cable from pc to the xtractor board.. also the spear cable is different colours and i aint sure what way round the cable fits the board and the spear

ive looked at them and they aint any good to me they dont explain how to fit the cables they only explain how to extract the key.. its the first time i am doing this, so i need to be certain i am putting cables in the right way as i dont want to ruin the boar or the drive..

There's pics included in them. If you're using usb connect the usb lead to your pc (or the r232 lead if you're using a serial cable attached to a comport instead of usb, needed if you're planning on using iprep), attach a molex connector, connect the sata cable between your pc and dvd drive. make sure the cable which goes from the xtractor to the dvd drive has the notches lined up before you insert it and the spear .pdf shows you where to connect the spear. As long as you take your time and check that the notches line up (the most important bit) then you're good to go.

The top raised notches on the xtractor lead lines up with gaps in the drive.

just a quick question i have a via raid sata card and i followed a tutorial on removing the drivers from the windows\drivers folder and i uninstalled the drivers from the device manager and then rebooted and installed the portio32 drivers but now i get the yellow exclamation mark for the scsi/ raid controllers for the raid host controller.. is that gonna be ok, will the sata card still work because i have the portio32 drivers installed..

Yeah you basically remove the viamraid.sys file (or rename it) to stop jungleflasher craching with liteons. As long as you have the portio's installed your fine. And yip the yellow exclamation mark is right.

sorry for all these questions i just want to make sure i do it right.. should it be ok to use jungleflasher to read the key or should i use the xtractor reader.. i plan on flashing the drive once i have the key with jungle flasher.. and ive seen jungle flasher read keys also..

I've never used xtractor reader so i can't comment on it but jungleflasher is good to use (as long as you remove the viamraid which you have) Take your time and go easy and you'll be fine. ive setup all the cables to read the key from the xbox drive bus as i rebooted i get a new hardware found for my raid controller.. is this normal with the raid/sata card work.. or has something gone wrong went i put the portIO32 drivers on
