Quick Question

Post by Kgoofernogin »

Hey,

I'm new to the site and the mod scene, and i'm wondering if it is safe to update games over xboxlive. I booted up RE5 and there is an update that pops up. Is it safe to do it?

And, if the kreon checker says its a good rip and XBC says its clear, is that the safest that my game can get?

And lastly, i know kreon is the way to go, but wxripper, though dated, can it still allow me to go on live as long as I patch it up with abgx 1.0.1 and check it through XBC and kreon checker?

Sorry for the noob questions but I just can't get a hold of a kreon drive at the moment, and I really want to back my games up without spending any money.

Thanks

1.yes
2.no
3.yes
4. It would be hard not to spend money to back up your games as the media costs some coin, the dvd reader costs some coin each time used, and the dvd writer has a cost per copy associated with it.

Hope this helps, if I missed the mark edit this or holla back.

Thanks for the response.

I know that I have to spend some money for the media. I have a DLburner, so that checks out.
And what do you mean that my iso is not safe even though I scanned my iso with 2 different programs + kreon checker. Isn't that the safest you can get?

Also, does any one else have any thoughts on updated games on live?

And is there anything "wrong" with wxripper method? As long as you stealth it with agbx, run it through other programs, it is still live safe right? (Despite any distrust with abgx)

Good morning,

you asked,
"And, if the kreon checker says its a good rip and XBC says its clear, is that the safest that my game can get?"

And my response was no based on you did not mention Abgx360...I use and trust that program faithfully and would not under any circumstances go live prior to abgx saying the ISO was clear.

Not that the programs your using are bad, I use them too...just never without ABGX.

I hope this helps,
Dan

you have to take the live updates.
most of the updates come from the disc not from live
but
it dont matter if you want to play the game you have to take the update.

it is old and not supported anymore
You will find many games that it will not dump

get a kreon dvd drive that has been flashed with the kreon v100 firmware.
yes,it cost some money but you get what you pay for.

if you do a back up with the ripper
then you need to let abgx360 fix your iso
because you can bet it will have problems in it.

if you get a kreon drive and dump the in hand orig dont let abgx change anything.

Thanks for your help you guys. Now I feel a lot safer.

I'm also impressed with the quality of the responses that people are giving- very detailed and thorough!
:D

Just one last thought, there is no other way than buying a drive off ebay? Don't do much e-shoppping.

Thanks a lot!

well you can get a v28 samsund xbox dvd drive or a benq xbox dvd drive and flash in the 0800 firmware
that will let you mount it to your computer and dump your games that way
