Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
i recently picked up a xbox 360 with a hitachi 79 drive. I went to flash with jungleflasher 1.55, using a ck3 pro . it is a stock drive. mode b sends fine without the 79 unlock cd and then i click flash ixteme firmware making sure the correct drive is selected, it asks me to save OFw and i do but says that the key was not saved and the f/w may be corrupt. Anyway of fixing this problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
yeah, you still need to use the unlock CD.
Send mode B
follow the prompt.
Then insert the Unlock CD and click 79 unlock. Then you can flash it as normal.

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
well tried what ya suggested han and now i'm getting a failed to play 79 unlock cd . When you burn the cd you burn the cue file in img burn right?
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
yeah. You are putting the unlock CD in the hit drive right?
If you still get the same message, I'd recommend that you burn the 79 unlock CD again.

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
yeah it just keeps saying Failed to Play 79Unlock Audio CD
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
Flashing the 79 is the same as flashing all the other hit drives.
The only difference is that you have to unlock it after you put it into mode b.
I would just download it again off of the download section here and burn it slow on a CD-R.

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
just burned again at slowest i could and no go still can't figure it out
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
i tried the cd in my other dvd drives and it says there is an audio file on it
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
That's odd, I've never had a problem with a 79 before.
you just put it into mode b
put the Unlock cd into the drive
and hit 79 unlock, and it usually unlocks in a second.
You did burn the unlock cd on a CD-r and not a DVD-r right?
Also for whatever reason I've had a problem with jungleflasher 1.55 running really slow on me.
I went back to using 1.51 and it runs better for me.
You might try that, but I doubt would make much of a difference.

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
when i put anything in the drive it doesn't recognize it at all, a dvd says please insert a disk. Yeah i did burn on cd-r
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
Did you dump the drive before you tried to flash it?
Or did you try to flash it right after you put it into mode b?

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
all i did when i original started was put it in mode b the hit flash ixtreme firmware but it didn't flash it just said the original firmware key was corrupt. then i tried to use the 79 unlock like you said but the device wont even read anything
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
Okay, well I guess it's possible that you corrupted your firmware by trying to flash it without unlocking the drive. You are supposed to get a good dump of your Original FW before you try to do anything to your drive. I'm not sure if that's the case but it seems like a possibility.
Try to see if you can dump the firmware.
If you can't then you might have bricked it.
You may not have, but I don't have much experience with that so I couldn't tell you for sure.
Hopefully Sadalius or someone else will be able to shed some light on this for you.

Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
just called my buddy and he said that the drive wouldn't read discs anymore when he sold it to me that why he was getting rid of it. He said it wouldn't read dvd or xbox 360 games. So maybe i should order another drive and swap pcb card out
Re: Hitachi 79 in Jungle Flasher Problem
Well, that would explain it. But if you plan on getting a replacement drive, then you're going to need to dump the drive and get the Drive key. Otherwise that console is useless....
