lite on flash probelm

Post by Hexadecimal_7 »

Hey, I have successfully flashed a lite-on using the ck3 pro kit in the past, but this time when I am trying to get the key using JungleFlasher. I have the drive half open and am using the probe while the green light is illuminated. Last time I was using the older version of JF and now I am using version 1.55. I figured that getting the key was under the DVDKey 32 tam and clicking Get Key, Create Dummy.bin, Open as Source but I get an error saying ***WARNING*** Serial Data is bad. What could I be doing wrong this time around? Thanks guys.

i have read about some people having a hard time with the new v1.55 jungle
make sure you reload the portio that comes with the new v1.55

if that dont work
you mat want to give iprep v8.8 a try.

OK... So I have narrowed the problem down to actually getting the DVD Key off the drive using the Probe. I seem to be having this problem no matter whether I run JungleFlasher or DOS Flash. I keep getting that same error message as I had said before. I had even used a small knife and shaved away some of the green on the motherboard to get at the circuit to try for a better probe, but still nothing. Has this problem happened to anyone lately, or is it just me that is doing something wrong. I am following all of the steps correctly and have flashed lite-on's in the past, but now it seems to be having this issue. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.

have you tried it by soldering the 707 point
you could have a bad probe (i guess)

Hmm, I don't believe that I have a bad probe because when I try and use DOS Flash the status of the drive will not go beyond 'Status 0x51' like it should. I have the drive pushed half way in, but having no luck... If I do solder the R707 port will it work do you think? Thanks.
