Downloading and burning games from Newsgroups

Alright, So I just flashed my BenQ drive with Cofree's help and Iextreme 1.4 12x. Now, I have another noob question, lets say i went out and bought some games from Walmart, if i want to download the same titles that I own from a newsgroup and burn them for backup purposes, how can i do it? I use NewsRazor but when I go to download a game, some of the attachments dont fully download and doesnt complete the game. Is there a certain newsgroup I can subscribe to? Ive already got cloneCD 5. What else do i need? Do i need any kinds of patches or will Iextreme fw do?

Dude, not a good question....

If you've got original games buy a drive you can put Kreon on and rip it yourself.

And I ain't a mod, so i can't really tell you what to do, but I don't think it's wise to ask about piracy....

Well Pioneer 111D drives are pretty hard to come by..what other drives can i use?

Any quality dvd burner that supports DL disks. Sony, Lite-on, Pioneer are the three that I've used. All works great. If your set on a Pioneer, the new more readily available 112's work just as good, but like I said, any good quality burner will work.

No, i just thought that was the only one that could burn games. So, i can use the ones in my computers that i already have? Im sorry, im new at this..Cofree just helped me flash my 360 last night. The one i have is a Sony DRU-720a i think, looks like the one cofree has in his dell on the video. The other is an HL GSA-H40N , which can i use? Is it easy to prepare the drive?

any good name brand burner that will burn Dl will work.
the downloading game is a bit much.
the best and safest way to make is to get a sh-d162c dvd drive with v81 or v100 firmware in it.install it in yor computer and it will read and dump a game to your computer then you burn it to a disc.

Do a search on ebay for KREON.....

I think there are 2 or 3 drives KREON can be installed on and then you can rip games straight from disk.

I think as long as you have a DL burner that you can set the bitsetting on you're fine, I have always used my laptops NEC burner (with modded firmware) to do my backups with.

Just out of interest cofree, I've never updated my drive to v1, are there many differences?

not muck.1 of my computers have a v81 drive and the other has a v100 drive.

Your Sony should work fine. No prep work should have to be done. Just use IMGBurn or XBCr to burn with at a slow speed with good media like Verbatim Data Life Plus disks.

Ok, i think the whole thing got twisted. I first asked for help about downloading games, but then i was corrected of what couldnt be asked. So, now im trying to figure out if any of my drives will allow me to flash them with KREON and dump an oringinal 360 game to my PC. Ive got the Sony DRU-720a, HP DVD Writer 840B, and an HL burner.Sorry for the confusion

i think you are taking a very big risk if you use downloaded games.
as far as asking for help on a good site to find them.just google it.
all the big torrent site have some games.
i would not use them.its the same thing we were talking about in the chatroom.

OK, my bad. The only drives that can be flashed with KREON are a select few samsung drives. They are only available through ebay because they are no longer being produced and distributed by samsung. There are a couple of IDE drives and a couple of SATA drives. Just go to ebay and do a search for KREON and you'll find one to fit your computers connection needs.

When I did my first backup I used Clone CD...that's what I saw suggested by Textbook...Are IMGBurn and XBC better? I also had no idea that the Verbatim DL DVDs came in 2 flavors, the good ones from Singapore and the 'bad' ones from India. My pack is a 4x pack, so I guess they're Indian?--I read somewhere that the 8x are the Singapore ones.

I have no intention of d/l ISOs, but I'm curious to know why it is a very big risk to d/l ISOs when you can check them the same way you check your own when you do a dump?
