I have modded 10 or 11 xbox 360's before, but they have all been BenQ or Samsung drives. My friend gave me his Hitachi 78 to flash, and for some reason I just cannot get this thing to work.
I am powering the drive with the Xbox and connected to my VIA6421 card, nothing fancy. I got Slax up and running, but it doesnt even put the drive into ModeB. It just says abnormal status on port. I thought my VIA card was broken, but I updated my personal MS28 in Iprep just fine with it. Jungleflasher or windows doesn't even detect the drive as being connected to windows. It's basically like my computer refuses to recognize my drive. I did install portio, but that didn't change anything. Can anyone please help me get this drive detected so I can flash it?

Give the new Jungle Flasher a try as it has made every thing Hitachi a breeze...It will put it into mode B without a hitch. Need more? Hit me back.
