spoofing

Post by HAZ3 »

hello again,

what i'm trying to do is similar to the following thread viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4827" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However, the difference is that I DO have my original 47dj hit key. now what I was wondering is (sadalius, i hope you are reading this) the following. I"m using via pci card. I know for a fact that i should follow what this thread states for a possible work around via the newest jungleflasher: --> viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4351" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; now correct me if i'm wrong but, from the first thread that was posted, sadalius states he has to unlock the samsung drive using the 0800 method. now i'm currently running version 1.4. is it necessary for me to unlock the samsung drive despite the fact that it's being spoofed into a hitachi 47dj? Ii thought the 0800 disk is used only for backing up games? Again correct me if wrong. With this in mind, can i not just use firmware tool box like before from your spoofing tutorial sadalius & then use an older version of iprep to dump & flash the new 1.51? please advise as there are a couple of loose ends that I've been trying to resolve before i attempt to flash the new firmware onto my spoofed drive. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

For the most part you're absolutely right. But I would still use Jungle Flasher 1.55.b for everything. Because if you go ahead and store all of the firmware's necessary in JF's directory then JF will do everything for you automatically. Just follow the steps that you've seen in Sadalius' thread and everything should work out fine. I've used JF on fresh never flashed sammy's have just done the Sammy unlock on them with great success. If you do run into any more hiccups just let us know.

you need to be aware that
there is 2 different thing going on with 0800
one is the 0800 "firmware" that you flash in the dvd drive that lets you backup games when the dvd drive is mounted to your computer
the other is 0800 unlock "disc" that was used at one time to unlock the dvd drive.

"the other is 0800 unlock "disc" that was used at one time to unlock the dvd drive"

what do you mean by "was used to unlock one time" cofree? when i spoofed it originally, (the samsung drive) i didn't even use the method you speak of. Do i necessarily need to do this step & if so, is there a tutorial because i saw none when i cehcked last night. please advise. also technoe, you state the following: "Just follow the steps that you've seen in Sadalius' thread and everything should work out fine" I'm guessing you're referring to the workaround & the oringinal spoofing tutorial that sadalius did using firmware toolbox, correct?

it was used to unlock the dvd drive.by unlock i mean put the drive in debug mode so it can be flashed.
but
way back we started using the 10 sec trick to get the drive in debug mode.
now jungle flasher uses a different way altogether.

you have to get the drive in debug mode one way or another.
the spoofing dont matter in the least
you have to be able to flash the drive first.

:idea: :idea: what i was thinking of doing is the following per what i followed in the past http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =197&t=881" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

is that possible or would i run into problems considering it's new firmware? additionally, if i decide to go in enroute that way i know i'll have to do the following as well considering i have a via card: http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =63&t=4351" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Lastly after all those changes i would be using iprep 6.6 to flash in the hacked firmware. would al this be alright or will i run into any issues? sadalius or cofree, please advise & thanks again. btw, i'm using a ck3 pro, have my original hitachi key & will be spoofing the ms28 into the hitachi console. please advise if there's anything i should be aware of prior to me doing this as the new jungleflasher, as much as i want to try it, seems to confusing :shock: especially if i have to get the thing in debug mode. if you have any pointers or better yet a good tutorial like sadlius provided for the spoofing via above or maybe even a spoof tuturial using the new jungleflasher, I'd appreciate it. thanks

Typically you should use one program from start to finish. iPrep 8.9 is the latest installment and I would use it rather than an older version. Also I prefer jungle flasher to the others because of it's GUI interface and fairly simple process. Use whatever feels comfortable to you. Spoofing can be done with both programs. Jungle Flasher has new methods of unlocking the Hitachi's and since the Hitachi drives must be done in Windows anyways, I strongly recommend Jungle Flasher 1.55b. I really believe this will make it much easier for you.

well technoe I am willing to do so however is there any tutorial on how to spoof the ms28 into a hitachi 47dj console using jungleflasher? i got thrown off when cofree stated i had to get it into debug mode (0800 the samsung drive) now if i don't have to do so then that would change things. please advise or show me the proper steps w/jungleflasher. would appreciate it. thanks

alright, what you want to do, is first dump your hitachi drive using jungleflasher. Once you get it dumped, open the hitachi firmware as the source firmware. Then open the samsung ixtreme 1.51 firmware as the target firmware and click spoof source to target. Save the custom firmware. Turn off your hitachi and attach your samsung and power it up. If your samsung has never been flashed before, goto the mtkflash32 tab and click sammy unlock. Once it unlocks, click the write button. When it says its done, power the drive off and your done.

"first dump your hitachi drive using jungleflasher" ok will do via cofree's tutorial no problem however, is this necessary despite the fact i don't use that drive? it plays originals w/o error as well as music but the laser is suspect as it doesnt playback back ups thus me using the samsung (ms28). i think i would have to dump the samsung instead considering it hasthe spoofed firmware, no? correct me if im wrong.

have the key, can i just continue on from this step you mentioned:
"open the hitachi firmware as the source firmware. Then open the samsung ixtreme 1.51 firmware as the target firmware and click spoof source to target. Save the custom firmware."

Now here is where it gets confusing, the samsung drive already has been spoofed per your good tutorial & i thank you. so i take it i wont have to use the mtkflash tab @ this point? if not, will it automatically unlock the drive so that I may write to it?

HAZ3 wrote:is this necessary despite the fact i don't use that drive?
yes it is
you have to have the info (key) that is in that firmware
HAZ3 wrote:the samsung drive already has been spoofed
well it dont matter if it has been flashed before
spoof or not

the new firmware you are about to flash has to be spoofed also
or it wont work in a different console

you need to keep in mind that when you flash in a firmware to the samsung
it over writes the old firmware that is in it.

the samsung drive has been flashed & currently has 1.4. after dumping the hitachi drive & saving the key, loading it to spoof to target (samsung) do i just click on write? I'm just using common sense here towards the end but correct me if im wrong. Additionally, don't i have to rename the files @ some point from my understanding? please advise. thanks

just a quick q, if i follow this thread http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... &sk=t&sd=a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; & use the new iprep tutorial cofree put up to flash the spoofed samsung drive into the hitachi console, i shouldn't run into any problems, should I? (well other than the fact of removing the via drivers & using the i/o port driver iirc) correct me if i'm wrong though. sadalius, cofree or others, any suggestions, comments, advice, etc? please advise & thanks again as usual :|

ok so this looks exactly what I had to deal with...

if you use Jungleflasher:
You dont need the original firmware of the hitachi to upgrade
you have to use the 0800 disk to unlock the drive to re-flash it
JF will keep the spoof info so you dont have to re-spoof it

use the guide: http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 197&t=4356" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and start at around page 22 to unlock using the 0800 disk and if you follow the guide you should be good as gold
