Xbox 360 Console not allowing wireless controllers

Post by fcrsbet »

My Xbox 360 is now not letting any wireless controllers connect to it. I have tried 4 different wireless controllers and all do the same thing, i hit the sync button on both devices they see each other but it will not go to just flashing one light on the controller it will always go to flashing four lights on the controller. The controller will power on the xbox 360 just wont work with the xbox 360. A corded controller works fine..

i ve tired pressign the sync buttons at the same time, console first, controller first anything else it can be ?

No you're doing it right. You need to press them both so they start flashing round in a circle then it syncs them up after a few seconds. Thats an odd one. Make sure the sync buttons not jammed in on the 360. Also disconnect the power brick for a few minutes then plug in and try again.

Keep the button down on both the 360 and the controller for a few seconds longer and try different batteries.

Failing that hold down the sync button on the front of the xbox (with the xbox ON) for 30 seconds, or until the light stops spinning, and turns off. Then turn off the xbox, and unplug the power supply from the xbox, remove the cord from the power supply and then remove the hard drive and wait for a minute. Reboot and hold down both small white sync buttons on both devices until both start spinning and release.

If all that fails then your RF board has gone bad. It's my understanding that the board can be replaced. Ebay has them.

Yeah they're easily damaged if you're a bit heavy handed when doing an rrod repair or similar. They're only held in with 3 screws and are a doddle to replace.
