XBC only reading at 2x on kreon 1.0

every now and then, I can back up a game and it will read at 8x or so, but most of the time it will only read around 2x. I have tried reading to several different drives and that makes no difference. any ideas from the knights of wisdom?

the only thing i can think of is it something with your ps.
i dump all my games at 4x speed.

I dont see how it could be the drive.
maybe someone else will have some input.

i meant reading to several hard drives, a 1.5tb segate beracuda and a two other sata drives. The source drive is the sh-163b with the latest firmware
pc is a 3gig core two duo with four gig ram running winxp 64

What are a few of the games you are have this problem with ?
If I have one of the games that you are having problems with I`ll see if
I can dump it at 8x speed.

XBC rips at different speeds. You may have it set to 4x in the settings but it will rip the beginning part at 8x and the very last part of the dvd at like 60x

Have you waited until it unlocks the game partition, and starts ripping that? Thats usually when it uses your set speed.

that right there could be the bulk of the problem
most(if not all) these programs are not ported to run on a 64bit os.

Only a couple games has it been able to rip faster. I have it set on 4x now, no change. Does the SPTI or ASPI make any difference? And I have not been unlocking, it seems to do that automatically. The one or two that dumped faster were not unlocked first manually by me anyway.

but i think when i dump on the usb it changes to aspi
