curious problem with sammy ms25

hi,i have a console bought off ebay(rrod).the secondary error code is 0021,which is either dvd timeout or gpu error(similar to 0022)..i thought id check the drive to see if it was bad flashed..so dumped the drive and got what looks like a valid key..it read the sammy fine.below is from jf.log

it failed on writing bank 1 both times..is bank 1 the dvd key?is it a bad key?can anyone explain why its failing?

I used to get that a lot before I disabled my VIA drivers. After I disabled the driver, sammies flashed and verified fine for me.

ok,uninstalled the via drivers and connected up the sammy.started jf and went to mktflash and selected the port of my via card and it said NO DRIVE DETECTED!!!i was thinking that it was a dead drive as it wouldnt eject the tray at all.for a laugh i clicked sammy unlock altho no drive was detected..this is from jf log

EDIT: tested in console but still getting 3 lights immediately on startup with middle light flashing green,and still getting error code 0021

Yeah that's a little strange, but at least the drive looks good. That just means that there's something else way wrong with it. Good luck with heat gunning the board.
