Quick Jungleflasher question.

Post by he-man »

Hi, I want to update my Lite-on drive from 1.5 to 1.51 using Jungleflasher. After extracting Jungleflasher I can see a folder named Firmware. Now if I open that it say “place firmware here”.
Stupid question time.... If I need to put 1.51 in there, do I have to download it?

Yes, I am a complete NOOB!!!!

Thanks in advance.

It's ok man we all start out somewhere, you can download the iXtreme 1.51 firmware from Xbins, visit our downloads section for auto-xbins. Just extract the .rar into the firmware folder of Jungle Flasher. Also, lite-ons with 1.5 will dump their firmware through the sata port so no need to attach a serial cable for the upgrade.

Cool, thanks for the super fast reply. I've got the Xecuter v3 kit (with the sata cable) so hopefully that's all I need...

Another Jungleflasher question.

Post by he-man »

OK, I now have everything ready to start the upgrade.

The problem now is that my Lite-on drive is not detected by Jungleflasher. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 32 bit pc. I've downloaded and installed portIO32. I've disconnected 1 of my DVD drive and is using that SATA port for the 360.

Do I need to download anything else or do I have to connect the 360 drive and boot the pc?

did you look at all the ports listed in the drop down on the top left side of jungle in the dvdkey32 ted.
make sure you have the right check in the small box if its a via or not.

I don't think so, all I know is I've got an Asus motherboard.

Yep, check all the ports but no luck.

No problem, thanks for the advice.

My problem is that I'm juggling this and a few other projects at the same time (not to add two 6 week old kittens too). I'll sit down over the weekend and sort this out propperly. At least I've got everything and it's just a matter of getting it to work.

OK, I got it to recognise the drive but (yep always a but  ) I ran into trouble....

When I click Dummy from iXtreme it saves everything upto the dummy.bin and then I get the following error.

Any advice?

I never go online with this 360. Am I correct in thinking that it should be fine then to flash it anyways?

If it'll boot up and run the games then if you never go online you'll be fine.

Those serial numbers that it wants are a pain to read, especially the one that the tech writes on. But if you can read them, it doesn't take long to just go ahead and do it right.
