Upgrading Hard Drive

Post by bigt8156 »

Hello everyone I just recently found out that the 360 uses sata laptop hard drives. Is there any way to swap out the 20gb drive that comes with it for lets say 120gb that one would get from a store? If so which brands to use.

Thanks :D

Take a look over this viewtopic.php?f=198&t=4802" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You cannot just use any HDD, it has to be a Western Digital. Also, you can only use 20/60/120 GB partitions.

Basically what you need to do is get a hold of the correct HDD, format it in Fatx, and put a valid HDDSS.bin (20/60/120 gb versions. If you put a 20gb your xbox will only use 20 gb of the hdd, 60, 120 etc...)

You need to get a 120GB HDDSS.bin you can get it from a HDD you or a friend owns, or you can google it.

Keep in mind distribution of copyrighted material (HDDSS.bin) is illigal.
