E73 error?

Post by sas67 »

hi chaps,i have a hmdi premium console(175w) and on screen it showing e73 error and 1red light flashing..i looked up error and it says ethernet port problem.i did xclamp fix as a matter of course, and tried overheating twice(as seen on youtube).no joy, still 1 rlod..so,i thought i would experiment and unplugged dvd drve, fans,av cable so power remained.powered up and got centre green flashing,so turned off and connected dvd drive.powered up and got steady green light, but no others.connected fans and powered up and green light.plugged in av cable and got 1rlod straight away.i have a hdmi cable(but no hdtv)and got green light, also attached an ethernet cable and still got green.unplugged and re-attached av cable and again 1 rlod!!
E73 isnt supposed to be av connected so wtf is goin on?any ideas?

My guess would be that one of the ram pieces went bad. That's just a guess though.

It's happened on boxes younger than that mate. The ethernet port chip has went out. I've heard of a couple of people finding an RROD board that has the same ethernet chip in it and desoldering it and putting the good one in and fixing it. But true to it's sound, it isn't an easy task.

Try a different AV cable if thats when it does it. Or try your AV cable on someone else's 360. If theirs works on yours but your's doesn't work on theirs, replace the cable. If it doesn't solve anything, the AV port's nackered. The ethernet port and video I think are tied through the south bridge so it's possible that the actual error is stemming from there.

ive tried 2 av cables in console and same result.gonna go to a mates who has a hdmi tv,and test it using my hdmi cable..if it stems from southbridge chip then is heatgun the only fix?

I'm not sure. Depends on what exactly is the problem. It could be anything video thats attached to the southbridge. Especially if you can connect it by HDMI and it works.
