Hi,
Now that ix1.6 is out. Need to update a few drives. Liteons, Sammys and Benq's. Using VIA 6421a
Just have a couple of questions first.
1) Before I used to use Dos, create bootable usb stick and flash the drives that way (due to the nature of Jungle flasher freezing for people) Has Jungle flasher still got this problem? Or does it seem to be fine to flash these drives with Jungle?
2)Liteon - When I flashed this previously, Used the probe to get the 3 files. Do I have to re-read this again, or doI use the files from what I previous got. Is it just better to extract them again? I take it the whole process is the same from updateing from Stock to the first firmware (sorry I ask this as got my own instructions wrote down and can easilly follow these)
3)BenQ - Pretty much the same question as 2 but for Benq.
4)Sammy ms28 - again the same as 2 (sorry thought Id list them seperatly just in case diff answers for drives)
Thanks
Bob
**Edit** Also another question, I used the CK3 pro for the Liteon, but didnt on the BenQ's and the Sammy's, do I use the CK3 for these now. Or go back to the origional way to flash?
Couple of questions before Flashing to ixtreme 1.6

You can try JF to see what it does freeze. Just make sure that you have the new version of JF and that you have Port IO32 installed.Bob24601 wrote:

Question #2 I am not sure of and it's a good question. I haven't had to re-flash a Lite-on yet.Bob24601 wrote: 2)Liteon - When I flashed this previously, Used the probe to get the 3 files. The BenQ, you would flash just like you did the very first time. I would go with the new RHPG IPrer 9, just make sure you get the new Idef file from here:Bob24601 wrote: 3)BenQ - Pretty much the same question as 2 but for Benq.

Yes you should use the CK3 for all your drives, just a safer way of flashing.Bob24601 wrote: **Edit** Also another question, I used the CK3 pro for the Liteon, but didnt on the BenQ's and the Sammy's, do I use the CK3 for these now. Or go back to the original way to flash?

Re: Couple of questions before Flashing to ixtreme 1.6
The lite-ons in JF are really easy if they've been flashed before because the iXtreme 1.5 lets you dump the firmware through the sata port. Upgrading to 1.6 works the same way, check out this tutorial. viewtopic.php?f=195.

Re: Couple of questions before Flashing to ixtreme 1.6
OK thanks for the replys.
I have managed to do this yesterday, ended up reading the firmware in Junge flasher. Then using command prompt to create the firmware (as Jungle didnt want to autoload the firmware) And then into Dos and flashed it that way.
Will defently look at tat tutorial for jungle flasher as got a few more to do.
