nice i have seen the lower versions of this but never dared to try em (iprep rocks) and as iv not read about them here i thought theyd be pish, but i look forward to your review

it is used to flash a dvd drive

May be a silly question, but after flashing with a new flash version, where/how can you see what version of FW you have on your drive?

BTW, I like this program (360 Modification Disk)...it helped me flash my BenQ after 2 days of trying and failing with iPrep. I'll share all my details in a thread I've started already.

i think jungleflasher will tell you this, you may have to dump the drive first though. . .

I don't use JungleFlasher. I just flashed with 1.6 (had to use the 360 Modification Disk and iPrep to get it to flash (360 Mod Disk to flash with 1.5, then iPrep for 1.6), but it would have been nice to see a little blurb or notice at the end that says "You have iXtreme v1.6 on your drive". It did give some numbers, I wonder if any of those were a code about what version it has.

i see what you mean, but still, if you bring the drive up in jungleflasher i think it tells you the firmware that's on the drive. . . you may have to dump it though. but if you used the right firmware when you flashed then you should know what's on the drive

Well, it took several days before I could properly flash one of my BenQ drives. iPrep would not properly recognize either my VIA VT...sata card, the BenQ drive, or a combination of the 2. It kept hanging at the point where it is supposed to read the banks...never gave me the Magic28 option, never asked me to eject the drive/power down/power on, etc. FINALLY after trying everything under the sun, Modification Disk did it. I had tried to flash so many times that I was a bit in a daze, but I'm sure it was version 1.6 that I finally flashed it with using iPrep (because after Modification 360 flashed it with 1.5, iPrep worked for version 1.6).
