stuck on 0x7F

Post by soulstone »

Sorry for this being posted again but i have been looking over every possibel post i have found about this.

i tried:

switching sata cables
switching the port that the xbox is connected to
using iprep and dosflash

but still nothing happens when i press y and it hangs at 0x7F. I turn on the box for 5 sec, turn it off for 5 sec and then turns it on. it never flips through anything.

Just out of curiosity, what does 0x7F stand for? is it problems with getting the box into the right mode to be able to read the original firmware ?

Just a note. im using the xboxs power supply. i guess this dont really make that much of a difference. I got a VIA VT6421 controller card. Hoping you can come up with some new suggestions cause im about to toss in the towel :D

well man go into step by step what you are doing.try not to leave anything out.
from now on we need to stick with one way of trying this till we have tried all the options.
i like iprep because it is a user friendly program.
you need to keep in mind
it needs to be a via6421 card
you have to be in the right port on the sata card.

to start we need to know what drive you are flashing.there is no 5 sec trick the 10 sec trick is for the samsung.the 2 sec trick is for the benq

Hey think I got it to work, just had to use the SATA port that was closest to the front of the case.

Yeah I had this problem, was getting really pissed with it, untill i tried the sata port on the end of the card as lithius said, by the end i mean the inner port, not the outer one where u can plug in the sata cable from the outside. It's pretty much self-explanatory from then on if you know what your doing.... if not i can offer help to people, please be aware i have only flashed a BenQ drive, I have not flashed any sammy's or shitatchi's...........YET
