1.6 ripping

i'm thinking about getting the blaster 360 addon, and use it to make ripping games easier. i want to use my lappy for a matter of convenience. so my question is, would a usb to sata adapter work? or do i need to use the VIA card to rip games?

i dont know if in the 0800 mode the pc will see it through a usb/sata adapter

Right now it's been my experience that the 0800 mode in any of the drives isn't working. I've put 1.6 on one Benq and one Sammy and neither have been able to dump a game yet. I don't know if it's something with the firmware or the programs used to rip the games.
