Oh no, did I just brick my Lite On using jungle flasher??!

Hello,

I'm in a bit of a mess here. I recently tried flashing my Lite On drive using a CK3 and a VIA 6421 sata chipset using iPrep at first. I came across some problems using iPrep flashing it because I would get an "unknown Flash chip!" error whenever I try to flash it. I think it's because I didn't dump the key before I erased it...

So now I resorted to using Jungle Flasher. I erased it again and then I chose "write" and it wrote the banks successfully (I used 1.6 iXtreme). Now when I powered up my drive on my 360 and inserted a game a white screen pops up with all different kinds of languages saying "To play this disc please put it in an Xbox 360 console"

Did I just brick my drive?? I don't have the key or anything which I know I should have gotten. But I do have someone else's key information on my PC from another Liteon i did. Will this help? Can I use that on mine?

If you flashed it with ixtreme and didn't get the key from it, I'm afraid to say, but it's game over for that drive playing games. It's not bricked, but you won't be able to play original or backup games without the key, you can play DVD movies and music cd's, but I know thats not much of a consolation. Sorry man.

You could always have a look for a motherboard on ebay supplied with the key... As long as you know the board is working, you can flash the drive with that key and you're good to go again...

Is it possible for me to use someone elses Lite On drive key? Because I have a ton of them on my PC from other peoples drives.

Look at it this way. You have a key to your house. Your key only works the lock on your door. No other key will work on your lock. If you loose your key, that lock is no longer any good to anyone. So to answer your question directly, no a different key will not work in that drive. It has to be the same key that came from that drive.
