unable to flash hitachi with JF

every time i turn on the drive jungle flasher freezes no matter if im using a connectivity kit or the xbox to power the drive. I tried to use the slax 2.0 disk but nothing the disk doesnt spin up?? not sure what to do here i have a 47 and via chip set

alright i can relate however what's ur setup? vista/xp? did you do the workaround first & install port i/o for the via card? is this the 1st time you flash the drive or has it been flashed prior? are you spoofing? be specific & we'll help you just like did w/me. reason i say i can relate is because i too have the same drive but am spoofing an ms28 into a hitachi console using 1.51(have yet to do)

anywho, follow those steps & you should be good to go using jungleflasher

What version of Jungleflasher are you using?

Also, when exactly does it freeze up? During the dump? You should have the drive powered on before you boot jungleflasher. You might also try to power on your drive then reboot your PC with the drive still hooked up.
I've had a few problems here and there with old Hit drives. Sometimes it can take quite a few tries before you can dump the firmware.

Once I upgraded to 1.59 these problems were less frequent. Also, if you use a via card with jungleflasher you should have your drivers uninstalled. Especially if you flash a liteon, otherwise it'll freeze right up when you do an erase.

ok thanks this is the first time i have flashed this drive i've tried jf 155 and 159 but it just freezes the whole computer. i have installed the port i/o for the via card, not spoofing the drive its a 47 hitachi drive
