Think I just bricked my Hitatchi

I was trying to use Ixtreme 1.51 and jungleflasher to mod a hitatchi 59 and after I got the OFW i went to write the custom firmware and I messed something up. I dont know if i missed something on the tut I was using but after I wrote the custom firmware I turned it off and back on now the thing just blinks. I have the original firmware , any way to restore it? i am trying to get the pc to se the drive but it doesnt as of yet..

Good news since you have the FW you will be able to spoof it into another drive if you did brick it which it sound like you did.
Not being recognized in windows/JF is a good indicator of that for hitachi spec since it was recognized before.


Me thinks I would spoof to a new Benq

I would not bother with TSOP removal and reflashing it as I am sure your going to run across those methods if you google "garyopa hitachi" but it is a method that I have not tried before nor likely to in the future. Just putting it out there.

thx, I will probably just do that. Ill neeed to go over that tut again. something is not right on it. I dont know if i did something wrong or if the tut is wrong . dont want to do that again..

Something to think about is that Jungle Flasher will send the commands whether it recognizes it or not. So try hooking up your hitachi and doing a restore with the ofw.

Yeah i tried. it was wierd, everything was going fine the in JF it said cant acess drive F:\ a few times. i knew something went wrong. it didnt respond to anything but a new drive is coming. thx for the help
