whats the difference in benq and liteon?

people say the the yellow wire means liteon and white means benq?but i have a white wire and its liteon..any questions why?

the biggest difference is the firmware that is in the drive

well i been trying to find out when did ms start putting liteons in the xboxs...the xbox is a 2006...someone said that the yellow wire in the little whole of the xbox is a liteon...but my xbox has a white wire and when i opened it,it had a liteon drive....sorry that i'm writing so many post,but im having a hard time hacking the firmware...i tried your video but cant get it....i didnt have a com port in the back of the computer but my motherboard has one...so i use that one...i followed the steps turn on drive ..put half way turn back on..then press yes to start...but it fails...says no dvdkey...that the letters turn red...i was wondering eventhough it says liteon can it be a benq..i need help flashing the drive.....

you're going to mess that drive up if you don't know what it is. when you look in the hole, if you see a white wire, it's a ben q, a yellow wire indicates lite-on. but you can also read the label on the drive where it specifically tells you what drive it is. one will say philips lite-on and the other will say phillips ben q or something to that nature

wether or not is says phillips don't really matter, just look for ben q or lite-on

i brother just got a new xbox yesterday...and the wires were white and when we opend it,it was a liteon...thats why i asked

i don't know about all of that, i'd have to see that, because depending on the lighting when looking into that hole, its possbile to mistake the colors. . .

i have never gave a crap about the wrie
read the label on top of the drive it WILL tell you what dvd drive it is

I guess this was a more convenient way to check if you were unlucky having a Lite-On drive before the times of iX1.5
