Is the drive for sure in mode b?? I had a 47 last night that gave me a little bit of a fit in trying to get it in mode b properly. JF would say mode b complete, the drive would act like it was in mode b, but windows would not see it for love or money. Ended up doing it on my other PC with firmware toolbox and the mode b switch on my ck3. I dumped the firmware with firmware toolbox, then loaded the original as the source firmware in JF, loaded the 1.51 ixtreme for hit 47 as the target, spoofed source to target and saved the custom firmware, Then I went back to firmware toolbox and loaded the hacked firmware and then flashed it.

With hitachi's mode b is their vendor programming mode. All drives has a vendor mode of some sort. Mode b is hitachi's. What you can try is this. With the drive connected and powered on, boot your computer. Open Jungleflasher and go to the GDR3120 tab. In the upper left corner is a port number that can be changed. Cycle through all of them and see if the drive shows up. If it does, then you can deal with the drive through jungleflasher.

If it doesn't, then you'll have to use slax or a connectivity kit to move forward. Or get someone to flash it for you.

Slax is a version of linux that boots of CD. Slax 2.1 is what your looking for in that. It's a live version so it will load off the cd and not mess anything on your hard drive up.

Slax is just one method to get the drive in mode b. For some reason your not able to get the drive in mode b through jungleflasher. You don't have a connectivity kit and expressed a wish to not have to purchase one. That is where slax comes in and that is how it will help you.

well
you have to get the drive in modeB somehow.
Jungle flasher,slax or a ck3 kit

im not sure why jungle flasher will not work
i would think you do not have the right port in jungle in the drop down
for it to list the drive.
