My Lite-on is dead.

Post by acidduck »

Yoo again.

I decide today to update my firmware from 1.5 to 1.6 on my lite-on, using Xtractor, spear and Jungle. All was going fine until writing - when jungle stalled at the 3rd bank. So I had to crash jungle and try again, the drive couldnt be detected. The drive wasnt responding when I was cycling it, then xtractor died. My guess is both of them have been shorted out and are now "bad word". I need a new drive and xtractor perhaps? I've tried various power cables and nothing seems to boost anything into it. I'm guessing there is nothing i can do. I have an old MS25 drive somewhere around, would this work in my xbox? I have the old lite-on key files - Perhaps someone is selling a Lite-on drive? If so lemme know - I'm in Nottingham UK.

Any info appreciated.
Cheers

this is how you can open your drive manualy if you need to.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

every bodys primary port is diff. if you have IPREP installed open it and it will tell you what your primary port is. or if you have jumgle flasher look in the dvd32 tab and it will list your ports under i/o.. when you boot into dos un hook all your other cd/dvd drives and hdd drives will make things a lot easier and then nothing can interfear with them

Not 100% sure,

you can try this
Your drive is blank it now needs to be flashed.
You will need to eject the tray if you have closed it see below.
You will need to use iprep to flash the firmware back.
ALL YOU NEED IS IN MY DOWNLOAD THREAD.

Making your new firmware.
open jungle flasher and.

1. select load source firmware
2. yes to load ixtreme
3. click manual spoofing
4. click load key.bin (select your key.bin)
5. click load inquiry.bin (select your inquiry.bin)
6. click ok
7. click save to file
8. save as litcfw.bin

Now save this to iprep usb drive folder Backup\1234567\12345
you may need to make the folder 1234567 and then inside that folder create the folder 12345 save the litcfw.bin in there.

opening tray follow pic below then.....
Once you can open the tray pull the tray out fully and push half way back in. Now, hook it up to the PC using
Connectivity Kit and Sata, power on and flash your new firmware.

Flashing your liteon in iprep.
Start iprep and do the following:

1. flit 1234567 12345
2. follow instructions (power cycle drive etc)
3. select W to write firmware
4. type when asked litcfw.bin
Thats it youre flashed.

Hmmm perhaps its because my xtractor isnt working...It died for some reason when the drive locked up. No power into it all. I've hooked the drive into my via card and sat it back in the 360 case, powering it from the mains. Is there a work around for this?

Yes, the drive is powered because it is sitting inside the xbox shell connected to it..... Altho it wont eject when I push the button, so It would appear that It has no power at all? Surely I couldnt get the FF72 status with no power?

are you power cycle in properly? I always power my drives via connectivity kit as the 360 trys to close the tray when you switch on and off. you can try but it wont be easy.
