Good idea to start online site for modding/repairs?

Post by mancougar »

Good Idea to start online site for modding/repairs? I know I ain't going to do anything games wise but I believe starting an xbox 360 modding/repair site is legit right? I might expand to other consoles but so far I'm going to stick with xbox 360's.

It is illegal for you to sell or distribute any copyrighted material in the United States. And most countries for that matter. According to the digital rights act you are allowed one copy of your digital media. There are some gray areas on teaching people how to make backups as it can be considered "Mal-Intent", but like I said it's a pretty gray area. There's a lot of legal jargon that most of us don't know or don't care for. Your best bet (legally and financially) is to avoid this at all cost.

You know what I do is market locally like craigslist and flyers. If you are going to try and compete nationally with a website or domain something like that M$ is probably going to really enjoy destroying your life. It's like with the old satelite descramblers now if you are caught its big time. Grey areas are grey for Large multi million dollar law suits. I am just assuming you can't compete with a 10 million dollar M$ legal team. Large corporation and their money don't like to lose sight of each other, kinda like that geico commercial. If you advertise nationally "Somebody's watching you!"

if the FBI find out you are selling copyrighted stuff(any copyrighted stuff) in the usa
they WILL show up and mess up a lot of your time and money
