Im sure some people think this is a dumb post but it 's for Complete Noobs as it's in Beginners section!

Recently I think some of you do not know this but do not use iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware BenQ, LiteOn, Samsung Team HyperX (Ripping Version) to flash a drive you use in a console this is for putting a drive in a computer and rip with it only. Don't use the one that says 0800 in the name. JungleFlasher should load auto load and the new JF tells you its not for a console it you manually do it. But if you Use Iprep this is more likely, not sure if it will load with ix1.6 definitions. I was thinking this could happen if say you are just starting to flash and you think its a build or the newest FW.

You can use the new 0800 fw by just rename it to bencfw.bin - Samcfw.bin - Litcfw.bin

just simply make a bootable usb device with Iprep load the correct ixtreme for the drive that your going to use, inside that usb device you will find a folder callled backups.

Create a folder inside that called 1234567 then inside that folder create one called 12345 then copy and past your bin file into that, you might want to change the numbers to your serial number of your console.

boot into Iprep

Only do this step if the drive your using is not needed for a console as what ever firmware is on there will be deleted

at the c:\ prompt

fsam 1234567 12345 - fben 1234567 12345 - dlit 1234567 12345 (depending on what drive you have)

follow on screen promts then you want to (w) write to the drive

name of firmware would be either bencfw.bin - Samcfw.bin - Litcfw.bin
press enter and providing everything as wrote properly then your done connect up to pc in windows and your ready to go.

I think your a little confused, I meant if people use the 0800 FW in a Drive you STILL USE IN AN XBOX! DO NOT DO THIS!!!

The post above is for people who want to make a ripping only drive (KREON) for a PC not to play games in your Xbox 360! If you make a Kreon out of a 360 Drive make sure you don't put the blank disc in before you open XBC as this causes problems reading with a liteon ix1.6 FW the new XBC also supports 360 drives for ripping.

EXAMPLE

Ripping ONLY use - ix16-benq-0800 - ix16-samsung-0800 - ix16-liteon-0800

Playing Backups in a system ONLY use - ix16-benq - ix16-liteon-repack - ix16-samsung

215XboxMods, I'm sorry man, but you're still kind of on the wrong track. We appreciate you trying to help, but you need to get your facts straight before you start posting stuff like this.

First - Kreon is a firmware, a very specific firmware written for very specific Samsung drives:
Model numbers SH-D162C and D, as well as SH-D163A and B. Kreon is NOT a drive. And has nothing to do with the Xbox 360 dvd drives.

Second - The 0800 firmware just released is specifically for Lite-ons, Benqs and Samsungs. Although the Benq and Samsung drives already had a great working version of this firmware. It is still very new to the lite-ons and will need much consideration before we can offer any real support on this subject.

Lastly - The iXtreme 1.6 firmware is designed to have the ripping ability so you do not need seperate firmware. We were really just waiting on Xbox Backup Creator to be updated by Redline99. Yes there is seperate firmware out there and makes it very convenient to rip your games, but is unnecessary.

I think what he is trying to say is that "normal" users should use the iXtreme 1.6 FW (repack for Lite-On) while the newer 1.6 0800 only is interesting for those ripping original games from disc using a dedicated drive.
