Flashed Lite-ON not reading Burned Games

Post by aN4rK1 »

Hi guys,
Had someone come to be today saying that his lite-on was flashed but it didnt read burned games. I didnt believe him at first thinking maybe it was a bad flash. But sure enough, I flashed it my self, tried it out, and still the same thing. It does not read burned games but reads originals no problem. Have you guys ever heard of anything like this?

What meaage or error do you get when you play backups??? "To play this game put it in a xbox360 console"?????

If so obviously your key on the drive is good, as you wouldnt be able to play original games.

You could try and reflash the drive again.

I dont get an error. What happens is I put the backup in, it tires to detect it for about 20-30 seconds and then it says open tray for where the game picture should be on the dashboard. The key is fine iam sure, and I have flashed it three times. I even tried the drive in another xbox, same issue.

All my backups are burned on Memorex media, burned on the Pioneer Burner DVR-116 i think it is, at 2-2.4x with CloneCD. I have tried many backups which I know work for sure.

This is just an odd situation.

you should use image burn to backup your games.

you use the drivers from anycd and clonedvd for it.

(((never))) open anydvd when burning a game.

Are you 100% sure the games are stealthed?

The flash sounds good, have you flashed another drive and it worked? As you say you tried the drive in another box.

Sounds like the backups aren't stealthed.

Ive always burned with cloneCD. Ive never had a problem, and I wouldnt call this a burning problem either cause as I said the games work fine on all other xboxs. Iam just curious as to whats going on here.

Games are 100% stealth iam sure, ALWAYS run then through ABGX before burning, and my ABGX is setup properly. The games work on other xbox's. Yes Ive tried to put another drive in the same xbox and it was fine. The customer actually just wanted a drive replacement, which I gave them, but now I have this weird lite-on left over and iam just curious as to whats happening.

It sounds like the drive controller has gone bad. It's a small microprocessor that controls the flow of data from the laser. It's a rare thing to happen but it does happen. Also to it could be the laser to. A pot (potentiometer) tweak may work for you but in the end it's probably a dead drive.

Thanks Technoe, where its the pot on the PCB for the drive? I can give it a shot. If I have a customer who just wants a drive replacement and not a mod I might give it to them tell them the circumstances. I thought about the laser, I dont have another laser to try it out. Are all Lasers compatible across all drives?

http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =198&t=423" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Here's the link for the POT Tweak. And no, not all lasers are compatible. But they are fairly cheap. I get all of mine from either Hong Kong or South Korea. Be cautious of who you buy yours from, it's also good if you can buy them by the dozen it makes shipping a lot cheaper per laser. They are very easy to replace but can be a pain to calibrate if they aren't done so already. If you've never calibrated a laser, this an excellent time for you to STUDY the pot tweak tut above.
