Need Advice!!
Okay I tried to flash my hitachi drive 79fl on a pc that has vista loaded. Tried JF but it kept getting hosed but would see the drive so I decided to try Max toolbox and everything almost went right until the actual flashing and now the drives bricked(tray won't eject) and I get error code stating drive is bad. So with that can I just buy a new drive and put it in and flash it? I was able to read the orginal bin befoe I flashed it and still have it. I also have a max passkey installed. Does anyone know once it reads the drive and stores the orginal bin that it contains everything I need? I'm somewhat new at this and need some advice? I've heard that it's possible to Spoof a drive using Jungleflasher I've read the tutorial but still a little confused so can someone please explain how to spoof a BenQ drive using a Hitachi key? I'm planning on buying a BenQ off E-bay to replace the blown hitachi drive.

Yes as long as that original firmware you dumped from the drive has a valid key to match your motherboard you can buy a new drive and flash it with your key, if you buy a different model drive there a couple of extra things you need to do to get it to work in your xbox. Im not sure which drives are the best but when it comes to BENQ drives i personally think they are the drives. Ask about which is best then make your choice, most people would say hitachis are the worst so your proberly better off getting a samsung ms28 or a BENQ.

Re: Need Advice!!
its simple, open jungle flasher and open your hitachi 79 firmware as the source firmware then open a BENQ ixtreme 1.6 firmware as the target firmware,
click spoof source to target,
then check that the keys match in both boxes ALSO make sure it says in the target box spoofed as: (whatever drive your spoofing in bold),
click save to file and save your custom created BENQ firmware. Now onto the flashing,
make sure the BENQ is hooked up and powered on and open jungle flasher, open the mtk flash 32 tab,
make sure your BENQ is showing up in the drive properties and simply click Benq UnLock in the top right corner, it should say in the log sending Magic Keys blah blah blah, if it says done your drive is in vendor mode,
your now ready to flash the spoofed firmware to the drive.
Make sure you get status 0x73 which can be found in the flash chip properties bottom row.
Now go into firmware tool 32 tab and click open target firmware and open up the spoofed BENQ firmware,
then open the mtk flash 32 tab again and click on write near the bottom right corner,
it will write all 4 banks and if it says write verified ok! then your done flashing,
now above the write tab click Outro/ATA Reset.
The drive should appear in the drive properties as a hitachi 79 drive (because thats what you spoofed it as).
Put the drive in your xbox and fire it up. Any questions, just ask
