When I use the pulldown in Iprep to choose my SATA controller, thre are 3 identical "SATA Controllers" to choose from. Only diference is the IO is different for each.
I have 6 SATA inputs on the MB (2 are connected to a RAID0 HD). Assuming that each controller controls 2 SATA inputs (they are in 3 groups of 2 on the Asus P5n32-SLI MB, Question is: how do I determine what controller to choose? I can't determine what IO's are accocisted with each controller

Since they are all identical, it should be the first one in the list goes to the first two ports and should address the first port respectively this way. But if your using Vista, these ports can be wrong. Vista has a habit of assigning it's own ports, but when booting to dos, your bios will assign something different. Also, these port addresses can be reported in reverse order when you have 3 banks of 2 sata ports like this.
What kind of drive are you thinking about flashing? If it's a Benq, you could just choose the first one in the list and let iprep build your boot media, then boot to it. CD into the tools directory and just type in "doshflash" and let it try to automatically detect the port, that way, if it sees the drive, you'll be able to see what port it's looking at.
In all actuality, even though your mobo has on board sata ports, I would look at getting an add on sata controller with the via 6421a chipset. Could save you a lot of hassle.

Thanks, yes, I have a Benq drive in the 360, I would perfer not to have to buy a SATA board with them already bult into mobo. I will give it try and see. I just need to be careful, I don't want to screw up my RAID 0 SATA drives

Just so you know, you might already, but it's worth saying again, most on board chipsets won't work. Still, if your willing to try, we'll try and help as much as we can.
