360 hdd not getting power... any ideas?

Post by minnieman94 »

hey, i recently tried to uprade my 360's harddrive and i ran into a problem. i formated it with the .bin file for the 120 WD hd then i formatted it on the xbox like your supposed to, after i shut it down and walked away from it for a little bit... thats when my trouble started. i came back unplugged it and plugged it in to my pc, and i didnt feel the disks turning inside so i plugged it back into the xbox and i got a e68 hdd error. should i return the hd to the store or is there a way to fix it. thanks.

P.S. i want to thank commando_lee and sadalius for your guys help before. MANY thanks :P

Well you should've been able to just hook up Sata power and data cables to the replacement hard drive to flash the .bin file to the new drives firmware. Second I'd have to see your power setup to make truly sure nothing was wrong. Are you saying that you tried to make your hdd and internal one?
