Hit 59 not spinning any discs

I got this console from a friend and he brings me his Xbox with a HIT 59 drive and a replacement MS-25 because someone told him he needed a new drive. I went to read the key from the HiT drive and I am not able to. Windows wont recognize it and I am using a connectivity kit that I bought to do the lite on drives. I am not sure what to do with this on. It opens and closes, but JF will not read the drive and neither would Device manager.

Did u install PortIO32? that should solve the problem

When I double click on Portio it tells me that it is running. Is very weird because when i go to the device manager I see Portio there and it looks fine. I also tried my computers Sata controller and it does the same thing. It doesnt recognize a drive. I have done many of these before without a problem, but it has been a while. I also have my Lite on drive I was trying to upgrade to the 1.6 and it doesnt recognize that either. The drive has power with my connectivity kit, but just cant see them and they also open and close.

Check your cables man, I'm betting on your sata cable being bad.

I tried 2 different Sata cables on this already. Could it be maybe the USB cable? I dont think you will need the USB cable to recognize the drive in JF.

Try using the modeb switch or a slax cd and see if windows and firmware toolbox recognises it.

I got it into mode b with the connectivity kit and it doesn't work, I haven't tried to get it into mode b with Slax. I guess I can try that later when I get home.
