Hi everyone, so im about to flash my benq drive for the second time since ix1.4, I studied a few tutorials including Cofree's RHPG's Iprep video tutorial but i still feel unsure of what im about to do. Btw Im using the new ix1.6 (not 0800) and RHPG's Iprep v009 via USB to flash the drive. Anyways my first question is that i never understood when to turn on and off the drive during the whole DOS, i just remember it doing differently with Textbook's guide but it seems with the new iprep that you dont need to turn off the drive throughout the whole processes, except when you have to half-open the drive is that true? My second question is about the connectivity kit, last time i flashed my drive i remember hooking the drive up to my pc that i flashed with via connectivity kit, can i do that still? or is it better to get a separate power supply, which i dont have lying around being the problem. Or is it possible to power the drive with the console itself like textbook's guide mentions?
Thanks again for the help!
Flashing Benq questions
Re: Flashing Benq questions
You can still use the same setup that you had for 1.4. And when I'm using iPrep I will set the drive up with the tray half-ejected and powered on before I even boot up my pc. Then from there I just follow the instructions on screen. Do that and you should be fine.

Re: Flashing Benq questions
ok so what about the connectivity kit, can i just hook to the power supply from my pc im flashing with to turn on/off the drive? because i cant find a separate power supply around my house.
Re: Flashing Benq questions
In that case I would power on your pc and immediately try to get into the bios setup (this will keep power to the ck while you reboot), hook up everything do the tray half-open, then alt+ctrl+del to reboot into iprep, you're drive should keep power through the process.

Re: Flashing Benq questions
tru that sounds kinda complicated for last minute lol im about to mod the drive right now, but i'll be using my Xbox 1's power supply instead and should work fine in theory. Thanks again for the help technoe
